Pause before the pivot

Recently, I've been thinking about those moments when our careers feel...stuck. Not dramatically falling apart, not soaring ahead - just sitting in that strange middle place.

It's uncomfortable, isn't it? We start questioning ourselves: Am I wasting time? Shouldn't I be further along by now? What's wrong with me?

But here's the truth: feeling stuck is not failure. It's feedback. It's your mind and body signalling that something's ready to shift - your role, your environment, your priorities, or even just the way you're framing your work.

Instead of seeing "stuck" as a dead end, what if we saw it as the pause before the pivot? The space where clarity has room to grow.

If you're here right now, a few gentle reminders:

  • Don't confuse stuck with broken. You're not broken, you're recalibrating
  • Get curious, not critical. Ask yourself: What feels heavy? What feels light? What energises me, even in small ways?
  • Take one tiny action. Even a conversation, a skill refresh, or a brainstorm can shift the energy.

Sometimes we need a nudge forward. Sometimes we need permission to rest. Both are valid.

And if part of you feels like it would help to have someone walk alongside you as you sort through what's next, coaching might be a supportive space for that.No pressure, no big leap - just chance to explore, reflect, and see what possibilities begin to open.

If that resonates with you, I'd love to chat.
